Asylum for a TV journalist from Afghanistan

On November 4, 2009, the Asylum Office granted asylum to the journalist, who appears regularly on Afghan television. The Taliban had threatened to harm the journalist.

Tony Mensah gets over $250,000 for Florida client

Mensah & Dzubow was retained as outside counsel for a travel firm in Orlando, Florida. The case was successfully litigated and judgment was enforced against the vendor. The client received over $250,000 in damages.

Jason Dzubow wins asylum case for Ethiopian political activist

On October 26, 2009, the Immigration Judge granted political asylum to an Ethiopian political activist. The activist had lived and worked for six months in Dubai before she came to the United States.

Ethiopian political activist wins Board of Immigration Appeals case

On September 30, 2009, the BIA reversed the Immigration Judge’s decision finding that the political activist was not credible. The BIA found that the Judge’s decision was clearly erroneous.

Suntrust Bank claim settled by Tony Mensah

Mensah settled a case, brought by SunTrust Bank, against individual guarantor of loan. The settlement saved the client from suffering a six figure damages amount. Settlement was achieved within weeks of retention.

Jason Dzubow argues two cases in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit

On September 24 and 25, 2009, Jason Dzubow argued two cases before the federal appeals court. The cases involved important issues related to standards of evidence in asylum cases. One client is from Ethiopia; the other client is from Yemen.

International consultant may be in breach of contract

Mensah is currently involved in multi-million dollar lawsuit against an international consultant for breach of contract and violation of intellectual property laws.
