Lisa D. Butler is admitted to practice law in state and federal court of Washington, D.C., New York, and Maryland. She is a member of the American Bar Association, The District of Columbia Bar Association and the New York Bar Association. Ms. Butler provides legal expertise to individuals in the area of criminal defense, criminal appeals, family law; (including divorce, child support and custody), wills, and employment discrimination. In addition, she has represented pro bono clients in asylum cases. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Butler served eight (8) years in the United States Army Reserves where she was assigned to Military Intelligence and Civil Affairs Divisions. Ms. Butler received her Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. Prior to joining Mensah, Butler & Dzubow, PLLC, Ms. Butler worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the New York County District Attorney Office where she received a certificate of appreciation from the Motion Picture Association of American for outstanding achievement in the investigation and prosecution of film, video, and television privacy. Upon leaving the District Attorney's Office, Ms. Butler worked as an Associate General Counsel in the Employment and Labor Law Division for the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons. There, she litigated cases involving employment discrimination and negotiated settlements involving unfair labor practices. In addition, Ms. Butler worked as a trial attorney for Williams & Worthy, LLC. Ms. Butler was born in Washington, D.C.
