Since 2003, Christine Sarapu has represented hundreds of immigrants in their immigration matters. Ms. Sarapu represents individuals, families, and businesses with all types of immigration cases including residency through family or work; citizenship; TPS; NACARA; asylum; removal and deportation defense; appeals and non-immigrant visas such as H1-B, H2-B, L1, K, O, P, E, E-3 and TN. Ms. Sarapu also assists individuals with National Interest Waivers, waivers of the J-1 foreign residency requirement, and residency based on extraordinary ability.
Ms. Sarapu earned her JD from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in December of 2003. Ms. Sarapu is licensed in California and her practice is limited to Immigration and Nationality Law. While in law school, Ms. Sarapu was the recipient of the Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) grant and an Equal Justice Works grant to work at Public Counsel Law Center with the immigration group during her second-year summer. Ms. Sarapu also participated in the Immigration Clinic through USC law school, volunteered at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Los Angeles and represented Marielito Cubans in their parole hearings at Lompoc Detention Center in Lompoc, California.
Ms. Sarapu joined the law firm of Mensah & Dzubow, PLLC as a partner in January 2010. Prior to joining Mensah & Dzubow, PLLC, Ms. Sarapu was the owner of Sarapu Law, P.C. and worked at immigration law firms in Fairfax, Virginia and Los Angeles, California.
Ms. Sarapu is a member of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association (AILA) and the Women’s Bar Association of DC (WBA-DC). She is active in the community, volunteering her time through the legal clinic at Saint Anthony of Padua in Arlington, Virginia, and at various legal clinics sponsored by AILA and other community-based organizations and Embassies.
Ms. Sarapu is fluent in Spanish, and has hosted a Spanish-language radio show on 1160 AM in Silver Spring, Maryland, 900 AM in Rockville, Maryland, and 1420 AM in Manassas, Virginia. Most recently, Ms. Sarapu can be seen on MHz’s World View as the immigration attorney host for a new Spanish-language program, “Tus Derechos”, which will air on Saturdays in the DC metropolitan area beginning on April 17, 2010.
